global destinations travel at Arizona State University, where he has taught courses in journalism, public relations, international mass communications, intercultural communications and travel writing since 1998.  Fellner is a faculty affiliate with ASU’s Melikian Center for Russian, Eurasian and East European Studies, and teaches courses for ASU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in downtown Phoenix and Tempe.

Fellner is a three-time Fulbright Scholar and two-time Fulbright Senior Specialist, having taught journalism and public relations at universities in Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova and Bulgaria; most recently he was a visiting Fulbright professor at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) during the 2015 spring semester. In addition to his Fulbright Scholar grants, Fellner has been selected four times to teach an intensive one-week course in communications at the Fulbright International Summer Institute (FISI) in Bulgaria.  In August 2015 he was named for the third time to the speakers’ bureau (AZ Speaks) of the Arizona Humanities Council and gives presentations about Eastern Europe to audiences throughout Arizona.
